Kolkata, Aug 23: A city court today directed the prosecution to provide copies of chargesheets to the 26 accused, including Dubai-based don Aftab Ansari, in connection with the abduction case of Partha Roy Burman, owner of Khadim shoe company.
The acting sub-divisional judicial magistrate, Alipore, Samiran Dutta, fixed September 20 for providing the copies of chargesheets to the accused.
Prime accused Aftab Ansari, currently lodged in a city jail, was also an accused in the attack on the Amrican Center here on January 22, 2002.
Dutta also ordered to initiate proclamation process against the absconding accused persons.
Partha Roy Burman was kidnapped on July 25 last year from the eastern fringe of the city. He, however, returned home with wounds on August 2 after nine days' captivity.
