Mumbai, Sept 12: Mumbai High Court today indicated
that it would take Suo Motu contempt action against film
actress Manisha Koirala for approaching extra-constitutional
authorities, pending her appeal against an earlier order which
rejected her plea to delete objectionable shots in ‘Ek chhoti
si love story.
Justices R M Lodha and Dilip Bhonsle told advocate
general Goolam Vahanvati to be present in the court tomorrow
morning as they wanted to hear him in the matter as an Amicus
Curie (friend of the court).
The bench said it would like to ascertain whether Manisha
had committed contempt of the court by taking her grievance to
extra-constitutional authorities.
Despite pendency of her appeal in the High Court, Manisha
had approached Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray to mediate and
sort out the controversial issue with producer Shashilal Nair.
