As efforts coninued to find a "workable solution" to end the impasse in Ayodhya, the Sankarcharya of Kanchi Jayendra Sarswathi on Wednesday postponed his return home and briefed the VHP on his talks with Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on Tuesday night.
The Kanchi seer has postponed his stay in Delhi by a day in view of developments and will continue with his efforts to find a "workable solutions" to end the stalemate between the government and the VHP on the Ayodhya issue, a closed aide of the pontiff said.
He is also likely to meet the PM once again later on Wednesday or Thursday, the sources said.
Emerging out of the talks from Vajpayee residence, Union Law Minister Arun Jaitely had said there was "some positive movement" in the ongoing efforts.
Earlier on Wednesday, the pontiff, who had a two-hour long meeting with Vajpayee late on Tuesday night, briefed VHP international working President Ashok Singhal about his talks with the PM.
Defence Minister and NDA convenor Geroge Fernandes, Home Minister L K Advani, National Security Adivser Brajesh Mishra and officer on special duty in PMO Sudhendra Kulkarni, who has been assisting the seer in the talks were also present at the meeting.
