Lucknow: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Nitin Gadkari, along with senior leaders Rajnath Singh and Sushma Swaraj, visited the family of martyr Hemraj Singh in Mathura on Monday.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav will also reportedly meet the family of Lance Naik Hemraj Singh, who was killed by the Pakistani troops near the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir`s Poonch district on January 08, today.
Speaking to reporters at the village, Gadkari said the Pakistani government is provoking people with what they are doing and demanded an apology.
He also said that the government should isolate Pakistan as the incident has disturbed not just the family of the slain martyrs but also every Indian.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh should not keep quiet, Gadkari said, adding, the BJP will raise this issue in and outside Parliament.
Hemraj`s family, which entered its fifth day of hunger strike today in Mathura`s Shernagar village, had earlier in the day demanded that it would call off its fast if Army Chief visits the family members of the martyr and assure them that his severed head will be brought back. However, Chief of Army Staff, General Bikram Singh, has decided to meet the family of Lance Naik Hemraj Singh, but added that the head of the martyr has to be brought through diplomatic channels.
