New Delhi: With the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) heading towards a clear victory in the recently concluded civic body elections here, its president Nitin Gadkari on Tuesday said that the poll outcome are a firm indication of the anti-Congress sentiment among the voters.

Hitting hard at the Congress party, Gadkari said that people have taught a tough lesson to the grand old party. “Party’s alleged misrule, price rise and rampant corruption have led to Congress’ debacle in the civic polls,” the BJP boss said.

Buoyed by the encouraging MCD poll results, Gadkari said, “We will win the Vidhan Sabha (Assembly) as well as the Lok Sabha elections,” adding, “The MCD results are an indication that anti-Congress mood across the nation has strengthened.”
Gadkari concluded by thanking the voters who favoured the saffron party over Congress, his party workers and the State Election Commission for conducting the whole electoral exercise smoothly.
