Bangalore: The Bangalore Police on Saturday said that they have collected the necessary information from Union Railway Minister DV Sadananda Gowda's son Karthik with regard to the rape allegations levelled against him and denied the fact that he was given a preferential treatment during the interrogation.

"Yesterday and today, two days continuously we have interrogatedKarthik Gowdaand what all the information we required, we have collected all the information from him and if we require some more information, we will summon him and collect the information," T.R Suresh, DCP, North Bangalore, told mediapersons here.

To a poser as to how far did Karthik accept the allegations levelled against him by the actress, he said, "It is an investigation matter, I cannot disclose."

The DCP also denied that the Union Railway Minister's son was given any preferential treatment during the interrogation.

Karthik, who has been accused of rape and cheating by a Kannada actress, earlier in the day appeared at the RT Nagar Police Station in Bangalore for interrogation.

A Bangalore civil court has granted anticipatory bail to Karthik. The court had earlier issued an arrest warrant against him.

A Kannada actress had claimed that she had married Karthik on June 5 after meeting him on May 8.

Sadananda Gowda had, however, rejected the allegations against his son and alleged it to be a conspiracy.
