President Kalam on two-day visit to Kerala

President A P J Abdul Kalam will be arriving here today on a two-day visit to Kerala.

Kochi, Dec 19: President A P J Abdul Kalam will be
arriving here today on a two-day visit to Kerala.

After a brief reception here, he will inaugurate the
Science Technology Museum of the SRV Higher Secondary School
and the golden jubilee celebrations of the CSI Immanuel
Church.

On December 20, Kalam will attend the valedictory
function of the golden jubilee celebrations of the formation
of the state at Thrissur and also interact with children
before attending a function at Chalakudy in connection with
Panampilly Govinda Menon's birth anniversary.

He is also scheduled to attend a function at the Mata
Amritanandamayi Mutt at Kollam before he returns to Delhi.

Security has been tightened in the state in view of the
visit with about 7,000 policemen having been deployed.

Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan said all
arrangements have been made for the visit.

"All arrangements for the visit of the President, who
arrives here tomorrow, have been made," he told reporters on
the sidelines of a function.

Replying to a query whether services of tourist taxis
also would be used during the visit of the President, in a
lighter vein the Chief Minister said, "do not count whether it
is a taxi or not a taxi. All required arrangements have been
done".
