New Delhi: Amar Singh said on Sunday that Ram Gopal Yadav was correct in saying that he was not rejoining the Samajwadi Party.
Singh was quoted by ANI as saying, “I have no plans to join SP. Ram Gopal Yadav is correct.”
SP national general secretary Yadav today ruled out the possibility of taking former party leader Singh back in the party.
"There is no possibility of taking Amar Singh back in party. So far no such matter has been raised in the party by anyone," Yadav said in reply to a question, PTI reported.
Singh had shared the dais with Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav for the first time in four years during a programme last week in Lucknow after bitter parting of ways with the party. UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and Shivpal Yadav were also present on the occasion of the inauguration of Janeshwar Mishra park. But Ram Gopal Yadav and another top SP leader, Azam Khan, were absent from the event.
At that time too Singh had denied any move to rejoin his former party.
He had earlier said that he was attending the function on personal invitation from Mulayam and had referred to him as his political guru.
He had also clarified that the programme had no political connotations.
A former national general secretary of SP, Singh was once considered a very powerful voice in the party after Mulayam.
As things turned bitter, the party expelled him and actor-turned-politician Jaya Prada on February 2, 2010 for indiscipline and indulging into anti-party activities. Singh then formed his won party `Rashtriya Lok Manch`. However, the party could not create an impact.
In the recently concluded General Elections, he fought on Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) ticket from Fatehpur Sikri seat of Uttar Pradesh but lost.
