Gujarat chief minister`s security advisor K P S Gill the issue of alleged "Saffronisation" of state police needs "a much closer look" than ever before even as he maintained that the communally hyper sensitive state has remained "under policed".
"I am aware of the issue of Saffronisation ..... But that needs a much closer look than one had in few days," Gill said on Wednesday night over phone from Himmatnagar, 80 km from Ahmedabad.
He said that the visit to the Sabarkantha district headquarter Himmatnagar was part of the initiatives to acquaint himself about the state of security and policing in remote Gujarat.
"As part of this programme I will visit other places too," he said.
To a question on the alleged “Saffronisation" and "communalisation" of Gujarat police, he said "police personnel
perform after orders from their seniors and if there is something wrong it is at the top level only".
But he exuded confidence that things will be improved
soon.
