The Shiv Sena would support the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) stand to go ahead with construction of Ram temple at the disputed site in Ayodhya, party supremo Bal Thackeray said on Saturday.
"The present soft stand taken by BJP on the issue of Ram Janmabhoomi was due to expulsion as it was a constitutuent of National Democratic Alliance", Thackeray told reporters informally after being felicitated by members of Pune union of Working Journalists (PUWJ) on his 75th birthday.

“In the present circumstance, BJP was not in a position to take a different stand and implement its resolution,” he said.

On the present situation in the country, Thackeray said, "While it is difficult to predict whether there will be a war between India and Pakistan, one thing is clear that unless the Bangladeshi infiltrators are removed from India, the problem will persist".
