Yogendra Narain to be Rajya Sabha Secretary General

New Delhi, Aug 29: Yogendra Narain, former defence
secretary, has been appointed Rajya Sabha Secretary-General.

Narain, a 1965 Uttar Pradesh cadre IAS officer, will
hold the post for two years from September one, a Rajya Sabha
secretariat release said here today.

He replaces R C Tripathi whose term expires on august
31.

Narain had earlier served as chief secretary, Uttar
Pradesh government, and retired recently as secretary,
ministry of defence.
