Two Naga militants arrested

Two Naga militants of the National Socialist Council of NSCN-IM were arrested by security forces belonging to Red Shield division during a search operation in interior Tamei sub division of Tamenglong district in Manipur.

said on Sunday.

Sources said self-styled Lt. Amo and Private Awangboni
were arrested from Tamei area, about kms north-west of here,
yesterday.
Two AK 56 rifles, 35 rounds of ammunition, four
detonators, some other incriminating documents were recovered
from their possession, sources said adding that the two
have been handed over to a nearby police station.
In another incident, troops of the Red Shield division
recovered 12 single barrel rifles, several rounds of 8mm
pistol and three grenades from Yang Khulen village, sources
said adding that the weapons were recovered from a place at
Yang Khullen village in Senapati district yesterday.
