Rain likely in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Odisha is likely to experience rain and thunder showers in many places in the next 24 hours, weather office said here on Saturday.

The rainfall is expected as the yesterday's well marked Low Pressure Area over the west-central and the adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal off North Andhra Pradesh and South of the state now lies over south Chattisgarh and adjoining Telangana and south Odisha, a bulletin issued by the IMD said.

"Heavy rainfall would also occur at one or two places over interior districts of Odisha and surface wind reaching a speed of 35 to 45 kmph, gusting to 55 kmph may prevail along and off Odisha coast during this period," it said.

Fishermen have been advised to exercise caution while venturing into the sea.
