Jodhpur: A youth and a woman, followers of self-styled godman Asaram, were arrested on Wednesday for allegedly creating ruckus and beating a woman constable at the entrance of court premises here.

The SHO of Udai Mandir police station Harji Ram claimed that the youth had told investigators that he had come to kill two prosecution witnesses in the case.

"During his interrogation, he has said that he wanted to kill Rahul and another witness Mahendra, who had deposed before the court barely a week ago," said Harji Ram.

The two have been identified as Kalpana from Maharashtra and Prashant from Uttar Pradesh. "We have arrested both of them for disturbing peace," said the SHO.

According to him, both of them avoided the attempts of a woman constable to keep them away from the court. Later, the youth got hold of the constable and started beating her.

On seeing this, other policemen rushed to her rescue and caught the boy.

Both were arrested.

The incident had taken place about two weeks after a supporter of Asaram had stabbed a witness of the case, Rahula Sachan, a former sewadar of Asaram.
