BJP losing support base in Rajasthan: Sachin Pilot

Rajasthan Congress chief Sachin Pilot on Thursday said the Bharatiya Janata Party is losing support base in the western state.

Jaipur: Rajasthan Congress chief Sachin Pilot on Thursday said the Bharatiya Janata Party is losing support base in the western state.

Pilot's reaction came as the BJP and Congress were in a close race in Rajasthan civic body polls with the ruling party winning 891 of the 2,134 wards for which results have been declared and Congress bagging 770 wards.

Results for 2,134 wards of the total 3,351 wards have been announced so far and the counting is going on.

Addressing a press conference, Pilot said there is less than one percent difference between vote share of BJP and Congress.

Congress comprehensively defeated BJP in Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje's stronghold, added Pilot.

The August 17 election for 129 civic bodies in the state had witnessed a record polling of 76.19 percent.
