Jaipur: Mount Abu on hills and Srigangangar on plains recorded as the coldest places in Rajasthan with a minimum temperature of 5 and 5.6 degrees Celsius respectively.
Mercury dipped by one to four degrees at many places in the plains in the last 24 hours with Northerly cold winds sweeping across the state, a MeT report said on Wednesday.
Churu recorded a minimum of 6.3 degrees Celsius followed by Pilani 7.6 degrees Celsius, Sikar 8 degrees Celsius, Bikaner and Jalore 8.4 degrees Celsius each, Alwar 8.7 degrees Celsius, Bharatpur 8.8 degrees Celsius, and Jaipur 10.2 degree Celsius.
A few trains coming from eastern states are arriving late due to fog in Uttar Pradesh, a NWR spokesman said, adding, however in Rajasthan there was no such problem due to sunny days.
Mercury would go further down with the flow of cold winds in next 24 hours in the entire state, a MeT department forecast said.
