Jaipur: All the cooperative societies in Rajasthan will go to polls simultaneously for which the state government will bring an ordinance to amend Rajasthan cooperative society rules.

The decision was taken today in the state cabinet meeting here chaired by Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje.

"We want to bring uniformity in the elections in all the 33,000 cooperative societies in the state so the Cabinet today decided to bring an ordinance to amend rules," Parliamentary Affairs Minister Rajendra Rathore told reporters.

He said that the government would appoint administrators in societies after completion of tenure till the elections are held.

"Our aim is to bring uniformity in elections of cooperatives societies," he said.

The Minister said that it was not clear as of now that in how many societies the government would have to appoint administrators.

The Cabinet also approved proposals to provide free sanitary napkins to adolescent girls in the age group of 13-19 in the state.

"Nearly 20 lakh girls will be provided free napkins in the state," he said.

Rathore said that the government will hold Sarkar Apke Dwar 'Government at Your Doorsteps'?in Kota division from August 24 to August 31, during which chief ministers and ministers will conduct tours in the divisions for redressal of public grievances.

The Cabinet also passed a resolution to thank Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari for his in-principle nod to projects worth Rs 10,000 for the state.

Rajasthan's Public Works Minister Yunus Khan said that Gadkari has given his in-principle approval to several road and transport related projects worth Rs 10,000 crore.

Among the projects, Gadkari has approved are 1,423 km long roads in Indo-Pak border areas in Western parts of Rajasthan under Bharatmala projects, 72-km long Anupgarh-Suratgarh road, 4-lane Bar-Jodhpur road.

"The Union Minister also assured the chief minister yesterday to approve Rs 700 crore under CRF and asked the state to forward a revised proposal," he said.

During the meeting with CM yesterday, progress of construction of Jaipur-Delhi expressway was also reviewed, Khan said.

"The Cabinet expressed thanks to the Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, for helping the state in improving road network and transport facilities in the state, by passing a resolution," he added.
