Rajasthan: Chargesheet filed against mercy home owner and his wife

A chargesheet has been filed against the owner of a mercy home and his wife, who had allegedly sexually harassed two minor girls staying at their place in Tara Nagar area, police said on Friday.

Jaipur: A chargesheet has been filed against the owner of a mercy home and his wife, who had allegedly sexually harassed two minor girls staying at their place in Tara Nagar area, police said on Friday.

The chargesheet against Johnson Chacko and his wife Lila Kutti were filed in a sessions court here yesterday in which the police have made them main accused under various sections of the IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO).

Chacko, a rape accused, along with his wife Lila used to sexually exploit and beat minor girls of the hostel, ACP Jhotwara Dharmendra Kumar said.

The police have accused the duo under Sections 376 (punishment for rape), 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 323 (Punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) and 120B (punishment of criminal conspiracy) of IPC and various sections of the POSCO Act.

Chacko and his wife were arrested on November 12 when police conducted a raid on his mercy house following a complaint by a government school teacher, with whom one of the girls had narrated her plight.

Nineteen girls living in the hostel were shifted to a government shelter home when the incident came to light on November 12.
