Dharchoola, Jan 30: India and Nepal
on Tuesday agreed to help each other in maintenance of law and
order situation during the coming elections in both the
countries.
Uttarakahand, bordering Nepal, is going to polls on February 21, while the general elections in Nepal are due in June.
"The Nepalese officials assured us that they would not
allow the entry of unwanted elements and check the smuggling
of liquor," said Amit Negi, District Magistrate of
Pithoragarh, who also attended the meeting of Indian and
Nepalese officials.
Chief district officers of Baitari and Darchula were
part of the Nepalese team.
"We also assured that we will provide all cooperation
during the elections in Nepal," said Negi.
