Lahore: Two low intensity explosions shook Pakistan’s Lahore city on Saturday evening, but there were no reports of any causalities so far.

The first blast occurred shortly after 4.00 pm at an internet cafe near a cinema hall in the Garhi Shahu area. The low intensity explosion caused widespread damage to the internet café.

The second blast occurred minutes later at a juice shop in Begum Kot, located about 15 km from Garhi Shahu area.

The blasts took place a day after a deadly attack in Khyber agency of northwest Pakistan in which 10 people were killed and 20 others were injured.

According to Pakistan officials, at least six people were injured in today’s blasts. The injured were immediately taken to nearby hospitals. Television news channels showed footage of chaos after the blast.

Preliminary reports said the blast at the juice shop was not terror-related. Lahore officials said that it was only an accident in which a gas cylinder near a market in the city exploded, causing panic among the local residents living nearby.

However police have cordoned off the entire area and rescue operations are on.

Further details are awaited
