Agartala, Oct 09: A two-day business summit will be held in Chittagong of south-east Bangladesh on October 17 and 18 to promote bilateral business and investment between north-eastern region of India and the neighbouring country.
Stating this Tripura chief secretary V. Thulasidas told newsmen here today that Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industries and the India High Commission in Dhaka would jointly organise this summit.
Chief secretaries and senior officials of the seven north-eastern states and officials of the Union Commerce and External Affairs Ministry are likely to participate in the summit, being held as a
follow up programme after the north-east business summit in Mumbai on July 19 and 20 and a seminar on ''promotion of trade and investment between Tripura and Bangladesh'' held here on May 31.
Thulasidas, who would attend the Chittagong summit, might also hold meeting with senior Bangladesh government officials to speed up the trade and investment between the two countries.
