Zardari orders arrests in Karachi rally firing

Islamabad: Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari has ordered stern action against those involved in the killing of participants at a political rally in Karachi.
Unidentified armed men opened fire at the "Mohabbat-i-Sindh" rally, organised by the Awami Tehreek Party in the port city on May 22, killing at least 11 people and injuring more than 30. Many shops and vehicles were set ablaze by the attackers.
At a high-level meeting on security with Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah and Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik, Zardari said action should be taken against the criminals regardless of their political and ethnic affiliation, Dawn News reported.
