London: Astronomers have warned that a " Statue of Liberty" sized asteroid may hit Earth in October 2017 that could pt thousands of people in hospital.
Dr Judit Gyorgyey-Ries claimed the asteroid will create a huge impact when it collides with the planet, the Daily Star reported.
Scientists estimated Asteroid 2012 TC4 is around 40-metres wide and could cause even more chaos than one which hospitalized more than 1,200 people when it exploded over Russia in February 2013.
However, Detlef Koschny, head of the near-earth object segment at the European Space Agency, said that there was a one in a million chance that it could hit Eath.
