Passengers` woe continue on Nilgiri Mountain Rail

Nilgiri Mountain Rail, which resumed its service today after 12 days, stopped half way, when a boulder fell on the track between Kallar and Hillgrove, putting the tourists into lot of hardship.

The services had to be cancelled from November 23, due to landslide and boulders falling on the track and restoration operations were completed only yesterday afternoon and the authorities gave green signal to resume the services from today.
The train, which started its journey from Mettupalayam around 7.10 AM was stopped in the middle, due to landslide between Kallar and HIllgrove station around 8.30 today.

Engineers from Mettupalayam and Coonoor rushed to the spot, and managed to clear the debris and boulders with the help of workers and the train continued its journey after two hours delay to Coonoor, the railway sources said.
