A 30-year-old man in a village near here allegedly killed his son due to some family dispute, police said on Sunday.

Karimnagar (Telangana): A 30-year-old man in a village near here allegedly killed his son due to some family dispute, police said on Sunday.

N Mallesham (30), who hailed from Chintakunta village in Kathlapur mandal, had gone to his in-laws house in Bhushanraopet village, nearly 80 kms from here, yesterday, Kathlapur police station sub-inspector B Ravi said.

At his in-laws residence, Mallesham broke into a scuffle with his wife and in a fit of rage took away his six- year-old son Manivardhan to the outskirts of the village and threw him into a well near an agricultural field at night, the SI said.

Upon following Mallesham, his wife and in-laws found the body of the boy inside the well. But Mallesham fled from the spot.

Soon after receiving an alert, police reached the site and fished out the body from the well.

The body has been sent to government hospital at Metpalli for post-mortem and a case of murder under IPC section 302 has been filed against the man.

Police they have launched a hunt to nab Mallesham.
