Muzaffarnagar: The bail plea of two persons arrested in connection with the 2014 Dulhera gang-rape case was rejected here by a local court, police said on Saturday.
Judge KP Singh, presiding over the fast-track court, last evening rejected the bail plea of two accused Naseem and Kala.
According to prosecution, a woman was gang-raped by 11 people near Dulhera village under Shahpur police station in the district on June 4, 2014. The victim was allegedly abducted by the accused who took her to a nearby graveyard and raped her.
Police had registered a case and arrested 11 people in this connection. The crime had sparked a protest, with angry villagers laying siege to the local police station, following which a circle officer was shunted out and six personnel, including an SHO, were suspended for alleged negligence.
