Girl detained for allegedly threatening wife of UP MLA

A girl was on Thursday detained on the charge of threatening the wife of a Samajwai Party MLA in Hazratganj area, police sources said here.

Shamreen Khan was detained this afternoon after Anita
Seth, wife of SP MLA Anup Sanda, lodged a written complaint
alleging that she forcibly entered her car and threatened her
with dire consequences, they said.

Police said Seth alleged that Shamreen, who had lodged a
rape case against MLA Sanda in September in Sultanpur
district, also demanded Rs 20 lakh from her.

Meanwhile, Shamreen also moved an application accusing
Sanda, his wife Anita Seth and eight unidentified persons of
attempting to abduct her.
Shamreen claimed since she was getting threats as she had
lodged a case against Sanda, sources said adding her case was
not registered yet.
