Noida: The Kalindi Kunj Yamuna Bridge,
connecting Noida with Delhi, will now be widened from four to
eight lanes, officials said on Saturday.
The Noida Board gave the approval for widening the
Bridge at a meeting here today.
"Presently Yamuna Bridge at Kalindi Kunj is four
lanes. It was not being able to take the present traffic
volume which was increasing with development of areas around
Expressway and other residential complexes in the city,"
Chairman Mohinder Singh said.
"The board has given approval to widen the existing
bridge to eight lanes. Like Nizammudin and ITO bridges a
parallel bridge will be set up. Another parallel bridge on the
Shahdara drain before the Yamuna bridge would be constructed,"
Singh said.
The board also gave approval to set-up a botanical
garden.
Noida and Greater Noida authorities granted Rs 10
crores for four hi-tech inter-colleges.
