Hamirpur: Three labourers were crushed to
death under the furnace of a factory in Bharua Sumerpur town
of the district, police said today.
The incident occurred late last night when a furnace fell
on the labourers after its rope snapped all of a sudden,
killing the three on the spot, they said.
Two of the victims were identified as Jai Bhushan (45)
and Santosh (30) while the identity of the third labourer has
not been established yet, police said.
Meanwhile, agitated with the incident, local residents
created a ruckus and staged a demonstration near the factory
premises, they said.
Police said that an FIR was lodged against the factory
owners Ashish Agarwal and Mukesh Agarwal in this connection.
