Kanpur: It's a heartwarming story.
Lata Devi Diwakar from Kanpur sold her 'mangalsutra' to build a toilet at her residence.
"We used to face a lot of problems, finally decided to build the toilet after PM Narendra Modi’s campaign inspired me," she said, as per ANI.
Late added, "Toilet is a basic necessity, compared to jewellery and so I sold them. Didn’t get any help from the government."

Clean India Mission is a national campaign of the country and was officially launched on 2nd October 2014 at Rajghat by PM Modi.
It aims to eradicate open defecation by 2019, the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
Speaking about the need for toilets, PM Modi had said in his 2014 Independence Day speech - "Has it ever pained us that our mothers and sisters have to defecate in open? Poor womenfolk of the village wait for the night; until darkness descends, they can`t go out to defecate. What bodily torture they must be feeling, how many diseases that act might engender. Can't we just make arrangements for toilets for the dignity of our mothers and sisters?"
