UP: 9 policemen suspended for dereliction of duty

Lakhimpur: Nine policemen have been suspended on charges of dereliction of duty, a senior officer said here.

"Two head constables and seven constables were reported to be absent from their duties for the past several months without any leave or intimation at their stations," Superintendent of Police Arvind Sen Yadav said.

The suspended policemen were posted at different police stations.

"Taking serious cognizance of their absence, all the lax cops were suspended and disciplinary proceedings have been initiated," Yadav said.
