HC-appointed special officers inspect Shah's rally site in Kolkata

 The site for BJP president Amit Shah's November 30 rally was today inspected by the two special officers appointed by the Calcutta High Court to ensure compliance of fire services and municipal rules besides officials of fire services, KMC, police and state BJP leaders.

Kolkata: The site for BJP president Amit Shah's November 30 rally was today inspected by the two special officers appointed by the Calcutta High Court to ensure compliance of fire services and municipal rules besides officials of fire services, KMC, police and state BJP leaders.

Director General of fire services Sanjoy Mukherjee and Joint Commissioner (Development) of Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) S. Santra, who were appointed as the two special officers yesterday, visited the rally site.

Kolkata Police was represented by DC (central) D P Singh, sources said.

Among the BJP leaders who inspected the site were Tathagata Roy and Alok Guha Roy.

The Calcutta High Court yesterday appointed the two special officers to ensure compliance of fire services and municipal rules in the public meeting, observing that the government should not be rigid in the compliance of these rules while granting permission.
