Kolkata: West Bengal Transport Minister Madan Mitra, whose name has surfaced for his alleged involvement in the multi-crore Saradha scam, was taken for medical tests on Monday.
Mitra had yesterday said that he was unwell and would appear for questioning before CBI in the next few days.
The minister was also admitted to the state-run SSKM hospital last week after he complained of breathlessness.
He also denied the allegations of involvement in the Saradha scam and taking benefits from Saradha group chairman Sudipto Sen.
The Trinamool Congress leader further said that he will tender his resignation if it is proved that he or any of his family member were involved in the chit fund scam.
The special crime branch of CBI, probing the Saradha chit fund scam case, has already served summons to Mitra to appear before the agency officials for interrogation.
