Athens: Fire officials in Greece say a 32-year-old man drowned on the island of Zakynthos after flash floods hit the island.

The man found drowned on Zakynthos had been missing for several hours. Twenty people stranded in cars on flooded streets also were rescued.

A major road in Athens was impassable for several hours Sunday. Most of the emergency calls involved flooded basements.
