Bangui: At least four French tanks were deployed Friday around the presidential palace in Central African capital Bangui, shortly after the chaotic country`s leader Michel Djotodia resigned during a summit of regional leaders in Chad.
Djotodia, who was installed as the country`s first Muslim president after a March coup, stepped down after intense pressure over his failure to stem deadly sectarian violence.
