Gunman shot dead by police at Louisiana Bank, two hostages critical

The gunman who held two people hostage at Louisiana Bank was shot dead by police after he fired at the captives.

St Joseph: The gunman who held two people hostage at Louisiana Bank was shot dead by police after he fired at the captives, as per reports on Wednesday.

The gunman was reportedly a paranoid schizophrenic and the attack was a planned one, Louisiana State Police superintendent Col Mike Edmonson reportedly said.

20-year-old Fuaed Abdo Ahmed threatened to kill the hostages during negotiations with the police. Soon after Abdo`s threat, the police entered the building and on seeing the cops, the gunman shot at the two hostages with his hand gun.

The state police then shot and killed the gunman, Edmonson reportedly said.

The condition of the hostages is stated to be critical and they were taken to the hospital.

Three bank employees were reportedly taken hostage on Tuesday by a gunman at a Tensas State Bank branch hostage. While the gunman released a female hostage after nine hours, negotiations continued to secure the release of the remaining two.

The gunman, armed with a hand gun and a rifle, lived along with his family across the street from the bank and owned the Trak convenience store.
