The US Geological Survey says the quake struck at 5:54 am Saturday in Fontana and was felt across Riverside, San Bernardino, Orange and Los Angeles counties.

It was followed by two small aftershocks.

The epicenter was about 50 miles (80 kilometers) east of downtown Los Angeles.
