New Delhi: The non-stop torrential rains Chennai has which has disrupted normal life, also had major impact on IT and automobile companies.

As per a report in the Times of India, IT major TCS, which has 13 centres spread over Chennai, has located some of its employees elesewhere for seamless work.
It may be recalled that last week (Nov 23) a 26-year-old TCS associate who was riding his two-wheeler died after his bike skided at Old Mahabalipuram road.

Major IT companies like Cognizant, HCL Technologies, Infosys are also closely monitoring the situation, with some offering flexible work schedule, the paper said.
Heavy rains which have triggered a deluge completely have also wreaked havoc for the automobile sector. Almost all factories “located on the fringes of Chennai, either suspended production from Tuesday afternoon or didn't start work due to poor attendance”, the TOI report said.
The paper also reported that major auto makers viz, Hyundai, Ford, Nissan Renault and Daimler have “called off work from the second shift (begins around 3PM) on Tuesday and also announced stoppage of production of the first shift on Wednesday.”
