This week, Apple will inaugurate its first physical location in India. The company's goals for India as a growth market and manufacturing base are highlighted by the opening of a retail location by the smartphone giant in Mumbai tomorrow, followed by the opening of a second location in Delhi on April 20. Here's the first glimpse of the Apple BKC store.
Deirdre O'Brien, senior vice president of retail at Apple, said, "At Apple, our customers are at the centre of everything we do, and our teams are eager to celebrate this amazing milestone with them as we open our first retail store in India." "Apple BKC brings together the best of Apple in a beautiful, welcoming venue for interaction and community and is a reflection of Mumbai's dynamic culture."
Beginning on Tuesday, April 18—the inauguration day of the store—and running through the summer, Apple BKC will present a special Today at Apple series called "Mumbai Rising." These free events utilising Apple goods and services will unite tourists, regional artists, and creatives while providing hands-on experiences that honour the neighbourhood and its culture.
With a dedicated solar array and 0 percent dependency on fossil fuels for store operations, Apple BKC is built to be one of the world's most energy-efficient Apple Store locations.
The distinctive geometry of the store is reflected in a triangular handcrafted timber ceiling that extends past the glass façade to the bottom of the outer canopy.
Two Rajasthani stone walls and a 14-meter stainless steel staircase leading from the ground floor to the cantilevered mezzanine welcome clients as they enter the store.
As per the company's claims, Apple BKC's employees can speak over 20 languages.
