This 1997 epic war film written, produced and directed by JP Dutta was set during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. It had an ensemble star cast of Sunny Deol, Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Akshaye Khanna, Sudesh Berry and Puneet Issar alongside a supporting cast including Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Tabu, Raakhee, Pooja Bhatt and Sharbani Mukherjee.

Shah Rukh Khan's 'Swades' is the story of a young project manager who works for NASA in the United States. He travels to India to find his nanny who looked after him during his childhood. The movie shows his journey and how he paints a beautiful picture of India.
The movie is about a foreigner (Sue) who visits India to make a film on Indian freedom fighters and meets a group of friends. What follows is the group's fight against injustice, similar to India's fight against the British.

The movie triggers powerful feelings of patriotism through the most popular sport in India- cricket. Featuring Aamir Khan, 'Lagaan' was set in the Victorian period of India's colonial British Raj.
The movie which was written and directed by Anurag Singh was one of the biggest hits of the year. It is based on the incredible true story of the Battle of Saragarhi, in which an army of 21 Sikhs led by their commander Havaldar Ishar Singh ( Akshay Kumar) fought against 10,000 Afghans in 1897.
Set in the time of Partition of India in 1947, the movie narrates the struggles of a Sikh truck driver played by Sunny Deol, who falls in love with a beautiful Muslim girl Ameesha Patel, and the duo later marries each other. What follows is the couple's trials and tribulations owing to their religious backgrounds and nationalities. The film also has a sequel 'Gadar 2' which was released in 2023.
The movie, starring Shah Rukh Khan in the main role portrays the journey of a man who seeks to prove loyalty to his nation by coaching the Indian women's national hockey team. It was helmed by Shimit Amin.
