Late superstar Parveen Babi completed her schooling in Ahmedabad. She had studied at Mount Carmel High School and then did her higher studies at St. Xavier's College where she pursued Engish literature.

She made her film debut in 1973 with cricketer Salim Durrani in the film 'Chaitra' which failed to perform well with audiences. She began receiving recgonition for her acting presence after her role as Neela in the film 'Majboor' in 1974. Along with being an actress, Parveen Babi regularly featured on magazine covers as a model. Did you know she was the first Bollywood actress to appear on the front page of Time magazine in 1976? On the personal front, Parveen had several relationships with her industry colleagues such as Kabir Bedi and Mahesh Bhatt. In an interview with Pinkvilla, Kabir Bedi had spoken about how much he cherished his bond with Praveen and his regret that he couldn't prevent her mental breakdown. He said, "Parveen was an extremely sensitive and intelligent woman. She had a great capacity to love. What happened with her was extremely tragic." Parveen started dating filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt while he was married after her breakup with Kabir Bedi.
According to reports, due to her deteriorating health, Parveen Babi had made headlines several times when she accused Amitabh Bachchan, Bill Clinton, US government and other organisations of conspiring against her and plotting to kill her.
Parveen Babi was found dead in her apartment on January 22, 2005 with a gangrene on her left foot due to diabetes. The police had revealed that the troubled actress had died due to total organ failure and diabetes.
