Tirumala: The new Executive Officer (EO) of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Dr KS Jawahar Reddy on Saturday (October 10, 2020) expressed that he is blessed to get an opportunity to render services in the coveted post in the divine abode of Lord Sri Venkateswara.
Speaking to media outside the temple, Dr KS Jawahar Reddy said, "I had completed my studies in Veterinary Sciences at Tirupati. It's my long time wish to serve in the abode of Sri Venkateswara Swamy as I'm an ardent devotee."
He said that he would further strengthen the system for the benefit of the common devotees.
The Additional EO AV Dharma Reddy who held Full Additional Charge as EO handed over the charges to Dr KS Jawahar Reddy at Ranganayakula Mandapam.
Dr Reddy also took oath as the Member Secretary of TTD Trust Board.
He was presented Theertha Prasadam and portrait of Lord Venkateswara by Additional EO.
The new TTD EO along with family members had Srivari darshan.
Later, the Vedic Pundits rendered Vedasirvachanam to the EO.
He also sought blessings from Goddess Sri Padmavathi Devi in the Tiruchanoor temple.
He was given a traditional welcome on his arrival at the entrance of the temple. After darshan of the presiding deity, he was offered prasadams.
Earlier he climbed Tirumala trekking the Alipiri footpath in the morning. Following the temple tradition, Dr Reddy had darshan of Sri Varahaswamy and later entered Srivari temple through the Vaikuntam queue complex.
In other news, TTD Trust Board member Krishnamurthy Vaidyanathan donated Rs 35.89 lakh worth golden 'Sathari' to Lord Venkateswara in Tirumala temple on Saturday.
He handed over the 'Sathari' to Additional EO AV Dharma Reddy in the Srivari temple.
'Sathari' is made up of gold or silver or copper with God’s feet on a crown. It is put on everyone’s head when one visits Vishnu temples. The 'Sathari' is kept near the feet of the lord and putting it on one's head of the devotee by the priest symbolizes receiving the blessing of God.
