New Delhi: Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali's (SLB) magnum opus Padmaavat (earlier Padmavati) will finally see the light of the day on January 25, 2018. Nationwide protests took place against the makers of the venture where a demand to ban the film was raised and ironically continues even after getting a nod from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

The star cast has maintained a low profile and is not seen promoting their upcoming venture on any public platform. However, in this time of crisis—social media seems to have come to their rescue. As the makers are releasing this venture in 2D, 3 D formats. Also, the period drama will be available in Telugu and IMAX 3D.


The lead stars Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh took to Twitter and shared this information with a new Tamil poster and trailer of the venture.

Padmaavat faced opposition from Rajput community over its presentation of the titular character of Rani Padmini. The Karni Sena members alleged that the filmmaker has distorted facts and accused him of misrepresentation of facts.


Even after getting a green signal from CBFC, several states have banned the film from its release. Reportedly, the producers of the film have now moved Supreme Court to challenge the ban imposed by states.
