India vs Australia 2016: With maiden ton, Manish Pandey equals Sachin Tendulkar's rare feat

Sydney: Seven years after he became the first Indian batsman to slam a ton in Indian Premier League (IPL), Indian youngster Manish Pandey on Saturday became Men in Blue's new hero with a fabulous unbeaten 104-run knock.

While the knock helped MS Dhoni and his men avoid yet another series whitewash on Australian soil, the 26-year-old's performance was indeed a special one as he did something which was previously achieved only by Sachin Tendulkar.

Pandey became the second Indian player to post a hundred at SCG in a winning cause after the batting maestro, who was the first to do so – 117 not out off 120 balls – on March 2, 2008.
