Johannesburg: Former New Zealand cricketer and batting coach Craig McMillan has praised opener Tom Latham, who scored his second consecutive test century to help reach kiwis to 243-3 on the opening day of the second Test against Pakistan in Dubai.

McMillan believes that Latham played in an excellent manner as he has backed up his first Test century, proving that he is an exciting talent to watch out for. He further said that if the team could continue performing like this and put up a 450 total, they would, certainly, be able to put pressure on Pakistan, Sports24 reported.

Following an impressive performance in the first test by scoring 103, Latham continued his form by scoring unbeaten 137 at the end of the first day of the second test. During his 375-minute stay, he hit 11 boundaries and a six.

Trailing the three-match series 1-0, New Zealand took the field by keeping the same side, which lost in Abu Dhabi last week.
