CSA hails Proteas` cricket achievements ahead of 500th ODI

Cricket South Africa has hailed the Proteas on approaching the landmark of 500 one-day international matches.

Johannesburg: Cricket South Africa has hailed the Proteas on approaching the landmark of 500 one-day international matches.
According to Sport24, the 500th match will be the second ODI against Pakistan to be played at St. George`s Park on Wednesday, 27 November. CSA chief executive Haroon Lorgat said that the Proteas have built up an outstanding record over the past 22 years, adding that they have won 307 (6 ties) out of the 499 matches to date, which translates into a winning margin of 61.5 percent. He also congratulated the 12 captains, the eight coaches and all the players and staff who have contributed to this success over the past 22 years. Lorgat further said that South Africa has always set high fielding standards through the brilliance of fielders like Jonty Rhodes, Herschelle Gibbs, AB de Villiers and many others.
