Indian Premier League: Gary Kirsten set to return to IPL as Rajkot coach?

New Delhi: Despite parting ways with Delhi Daredevils, Gary Kirsten is likely to continue his association with the Indian Premier League in 2016.

According to a report in the Indian Express, the Rajkot-based franchise is keen to have the South African as their head coach.

The World Cup winning coach had two unsuccessful seasons with the Delhi franchise, but his record with national teams has been quite good.

At Rajkot, Kirsten will be reunited with his former players Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja.

Rajkot want a man with experience at the top level in charge of their team.

Sources says that all the five draft picks have been informed that Kirsten will come on board.

Former Chennai Super Kings coach is likely to join Sanjeev Goenka's Pune team in a similar capacity.
