JKCA conducts cricket trials for budding cricketers in the Valley

The J-K Cricket Association ( JKCA) has conducted open selection trials for selecting Under-14 cricket teams among the budding cricketers of Srinagar.

Srinagar: The J-K Cricket Association ( JKCA) has conducted open selection trials for selecting Under-14 cricket teams among the budding cricketers of Srinagar.
A large number of young cricketers participated in this selection trial which was held at Sher-i-Kashmir cricket stadium. A young cricketer, Muneer, said, "We saw the advertisement for these trials two days ago in the newspaper and now we have appeared for the trials. We all are coming from various places. Ever since Parveez Rasool has come out, there is an increased interest in cricket here." Kashmiri cricketer Parvez Rasool, who is presently playing for India A at the international level, seemed to be the main reason behind all the young budding cricketers who participated in this selection trial. Rakesh Vohra, selector, Jammu Kashmir Cricket Association, told ANI, "After Parvez`s selection in national team, a message has reached everywhere that anyone can reach the top. We are trying to give an opportunity to everyone. The response has been very high." Similar selection trials were also held at various districts of the Kashmir valley.
