New Delhi: Mumbai Indians` player Suryakumar Yadav, who was deemed unfit to play for the franchise in the Champions League T20 owing to injury, had played a gritty knock of 182 not out in a local under-22 tourney in Mumbai on Thursday.
Mumbai Indians squad was given a special consideration of playing five overseas players instead of the stipulated four owing to their injury woes which left the franchise with only seven Indian players to choose from.
There were voices against the step taken by the governing council by other teams but this piece of information which was first published in a leading Indian daily will surely make some of those voices more strong.
If Suryakumar Yadav was fit and deliberately left out by the Mumbai Indians squad so that they can ask for the inclusion of an additional foreign player, it will definitely raise few questions against the Mumbai Indians management and the CLT20 organisers and the technical committee.
