New Delhi: One-day cricket resumed in style at the Gaddafi stadium on Tuesday as Pakistan broke Team India's seven-year-old record of highest team total in 50-over format on Pakistan soil.

In the first ODI against Zimbabwe, after winning the toss, Pakistan decided to bat first and put up a mammoth total of 375 runs at Gaddafi stadium, to break India's long-standing record of 374 runs, which they scored during the Asia Cup against Hong Kong in 2008.

Earlier, Pakistan's highest total on their home soil was of 353 runs, which they achieved against England in 2005, in Karachi.

Pakistan highest total in ODIs is 385 runs against Zimbabwe in Dambull. In fact, the total they made on Tuesday is their second highest in their ODI history.

In the opening ODI against Zimbabwe, top four Pakistani batsmen scored 70 or more runs, which itself is a new ODI world record. However, it was the 50th occasion when a team's top four batsmen scored 50 or more runs.

Pakistan eventually won the match by 41 runs.
